PORTIMÃO GLOBAL OCEAN RACE

Tivoli Marina Portimão is sponsoring the new round the world regatta.

The Portimão Ocean Race set sail on 12th October and is the first solo/pairs round the world race.

This contest goes round the most dangerous capes of the five continents and calls at places such as: Cape Town (South Africa); Wellington (New Zealand); Ilhabela (Brazil) and Charleston (United States).

The regatta is expected to finish in June 2009 in Portimão after a journey of almost 30,000 miles. This event is to be run every 2 years and is held in partnership with the Tivoli Marina Portimão.
